last year I had something eating my cantaloupe , for every 6 it got I got 2 not good odds there. I thought it was a mole because there is a hole in the garden box (fenced in) and inside of the fence are 3 12×12 garden boxes . there are what I had always been told are mole trails through the yard kind of a country setting with creek down over the hill. But I see you say they primarily eat insects and grubs so what would be eating my cantaloupe ? If it didn’t eat so many I wouldn’t mind oh tomatoes too, but the ratio me to them is not even close to fair, and what ever it is has to go. what do you suggest is eating everything and what should I do? also could it be rabbits and the mole trails are just coincidental? We’ve never tried the deep mulch method of gardening, but we do use cover crops like winter rye and medium red clover to build up the organic matter in our soil. This year we planted the clover in between rows and hills in the garden with great results. I never would have thought of herbicides or pesticides on hay. How disappointing if that’s what it turns out to be… I garden on rock  Sign up to receive our eco newsletter full of great organic gardening tips plus product updates and offers. Luba thinks about watering her garden. The garden can be represented as a segment of length k. My garden is overlooked on several sides We were determined to get to the bottom of this mystery. I began my research by visiting many different extension agency websites, college horticulture department websites, and other gardening blogs. And I found several potential causes for our misshapen root crops. The forking we saw could have been caused by root knot nematodes, or microscopic worms that feed on plant cells and cause major damage, but these tiny insects produce noticeable galls or “knots” on the roots. Through its county agents, the Cooperative Extension Service gives individuals access to the resources at land-grant universities across the nation. These universities are centers for research in many subjects, including entomology (the study of insects) and agriculture. Each county within the United States has an Extension office, which is staffed with agents who work closely with university-based Extension specialists to deliver answers to your questions about gardening, agriculture, and pest control. You can find the phone number for your local county extension office in the local government section (often marked with blue pages) of your telephone directory or by clicking on the map below. Aminopyralids take 3-7 years to break down. The fastest way to remediate the problem is to remove as much as possible of the contaminated organic material. Contact with soil microbes is necessary to get the aminopyralid to biodegrade. So keeping the soil moist and turning it often so the offending organic matter is always in contact with soil microbes so that it breaks down as quickly as possible. Composting won’t break down aminopyralids. It has to be soil. Also you could try to grow something like lettuce to see if your whole garden is contaminated or just a small area. Any plant affected with aminopyralid will contaminate any soil it comes into contact with. Aminopyralids pass through animals unchanged so the manure is also unusable. I guess we were lucky and were only out about $800 in death dirt and dead plants. Local organic gardens lost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Thanks Dow. Thanks Monsanto. I read this post with great interest, as I garden on limestone and so I have brought in many things to try to improve my soil. My most recent efforts have been with wood chips due to becoming acquainted with a man who has a tree-trimming business, and leaves, which we have picked up curbside from people who have our phone number to call when they have them bagged and ready to take away. I hate to tell you that we will no longer be doing either of these things. Hello, I have watched a video called “Back to Eden”, and thought you might be interested in it as a new way to mulch your garden. I am soon going to implement this new way of gardening. I found this video on Mercola.com. This video is a no till approach and keeps all living organisms in the soil. So you will have healthier plants. Here are tips on how to identify and get rid of moles in the garden or yard. All Gardenista stories—from garden tours and expert advice to hand tools and furniture roundups. Trying new plants and designs in your garden is wonderful! When Apple first enabled third party applications on the iPhone1, they were accused by many of violating user freedoms by creating a walled garden, that being the requirement that all applications installed on the platform must be installed via their iOS App store2. Apple promoted this as allowing application vetting for performance and security: particularly on earlier iPhone models with limited resources, this ‘curation’ process of vetting the reliability and safety of applications may very well have had a positive impact on the growth of the platform. Thanks for the follow up. Sounds like the plants are on the right track. Happy gardening! Sometimes there will be problems in the vegetable garden. There is always a cause and there is often a cure or control. My garden is excessively hot and dry I seem to have found a solution to deer. Just a bb or pellet gun. Mine do not come back. I hate stinging them, as I am the animal rescue type. But my whole lawn is a garden, and nothing was working. Did this as a child for my dad. A few years back, my own son (without my knowing) did that for me. The garden was definitely lacking in interest. The top corner was the perfect place to create a feature that would be viewed from the house. 1. Draw a picture of the physical situation. See the figure. We’ve called the width of the garden x (the top and bottom portions of the fence), and the length of the garden y (the left and right sides). Note also that the total area of Sam’s garden must be $A = 400 \text{ ft}^2$. Print one integer number — the minimum number of hours required to water the garden. In keeping with the constraint of a non-authoritative personality (Table 1: ISC2), The Idea Garden communicates its suggestions via a non-authoritative character we call the Gardening Consultant (Fig. 3). Imbuing such characters with a personality can evoke emotions in the user, such as humor, appreciation or social feelings, and when such emotions are positive, they can enhance the quality and creativity of users’ ideas (Lewis et al., 2011; Nass and Moon, 2000). Also, a recent study showed that end-user programmers respond well to instructions given in a non-authoritarian voice (Lee and Ko, 2011). Therefore, the Gardening Consultant’s icon looks like a tentative, quizzical face, intended to provoke mild humor. Some of the suggestions also contain questions, to reinforce this non-authoritarian personality. The Gardening Consultant understands the user’s problems in CoScripter about as much as a teacher gardener understands problems in a student gardener’s garden: a lot in general, but not that much about that particular student’s soil, neighboring plants, resident insects, etc. Stéroïdes TestX Core Celuraid Muscle deseo Testogen Atlant Gel BeMass erogran Maxman Eron Plus
